Bloomberg unveils single platform integrating front to back office for hedge funds

Bloomberg Trading Solutions has launched a single platform integrating front-to-back office tools for hedge funds trading in FX, fixed income and equity.

The Bloomberg Hedge Fund Tool Box (HBOX) gives fund managers a simplified oversight of strategy management, risk and compliance, straight through processing (STP) trade settlement, portfolio analysis, order management and electronic trading.

Users can also gain access to Bloomberg’s global, multi-asset, broker-neutral execution management system and Bloomberg Tradebook – its agency broker.

“The hedge fund industry is facing new challenges from the heightened regulatory environment,” said Dan Matthies, global head of asset investment management products at Bloomberg. “At the same time, hedge funds are facing more investor scrutiny, intensifying cost pressures and increasingly complex trading strategies,” he added.

Matthies said the HBOX would help hedge funds focus on investing and client relationships rather than on operations and regulations.

This product was also unveiled as Bloomberg Trading Solutions revealed the results of its hedge fund survey which discovered 95% of funds were in the process of reviewing their technology and operational systems. The findings further showed 80% of funds agreed that cost efficiency on technology infrastructure was “very important.”
