Gar Wood Securities make senior prime brokerage appointment

Gar Wood Securities has appointed John McCorvey III (pictured) as senior vice president of its global prime brokerage business as part of the firm’s expansion to its capital introduction service.
McCorvey was previously senior advisor of global prime services at Direct Access Partners (DAP). Prior to this, he was senior vice president at MadisonGrey.
Gar Wood predominantly serves small to mid-sized hedge fund clients.
“The industry is changing rapidly and the prime brokerage service platform is evolving as well. There have been a number of mini prime mergers, acquisitions and closures recently as some of the larger investment banks have moved into the mid-tier space,” said McCorvey
