Feb 14, 2011 by Martin Leonard

Northern Trust has appointed Kristina Ilar as investment sales director at the asset management arm of the firm in Stockholm.

Illar is to support Northern Trust Global Investments’ business development across the Nordics, which will offer asset management products to corporate and public pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, charities, central banks and other professional investors.

She was previously director for client relationship management and business development at UBS Asset Management. Prior to this, she was executive director and head of Nordic institutional sales with Morgan Stanley Investment Management.

Her appointment follows Northern Trust’s recent approval from the Finansinspektionen (the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority) and the UK Financial Services Authority to offer asset management products and services to investors across the Nordic region from its Stockholm office.
